About this exhibition

My original connection with the sea began the day I was born, being raised by the sea in the Netherlands. My original roots. And here living by the sea on the Kāpiti Coast is feeding my roots, my inspiration and my art.

In this series I have used Inks, dyes, Indian ink and acrylics, mixing them all together, not by brush, but by breath. These mixed media works are slowly and gently pushed together to create the vivid blends of under water colors and reflections on water.

The ancient history of the Earth, the importance of Water, the breathtaking, magical colors and details of the underwater world are the sources of inspiration for these works. I hope you enjoy them.
